Galaxy NGO is a prominent non-governmental organization committed to addressing critical social issues through a range of initiatives and projects under the aegis of the central government of India. Established with a vision to create a positive and sustainable impact on society, Galaxy NGO has been at the forefront of implementing programs that cater to the needs of marginalized communities, combat substance abuse, and promote cultural heritage.

Major Projects

CPLI (Community Per Lead Intervention Program)

Focus: Preventing drug abuse among children and adolescents.
Details: Operating in Thiruvananthapuram since November 2019, CPLI is a proactive initiative aimed at creating a drug-free environment for the youth. The project recruits volunteers aged 13-18 and trains them in leadership and communication to spread anti-drug messages within their communities and schools. CPLI also organizes awareness campaigns, workshops, and provides counselling services to children at risk of drug use, ensuring a supportive environment for positive behavior.

IRCA (Integrated Rehabilitation Centre for Addicts)

Focus: Supporting individuals struggling with addiction.
Details: Since 2013, IRCA has been actively offering comprehensive rehabilitation services in Kerala. The program assists 15 beneficiaries per month and encompasses a holistic approach to recovery, including detoxification, counselling, and aftercare support. IRCA also emphasizes social reintegration and skill development, empowering beneficiaries to rebuild their lives and become productive members of society.

ODIC (Outreach and Drop-In Centres)

Focus: Addressing substance abuse issues and supporting affected individuals.
Details: Initiated in November 2019 in the Thiruvananthapuram district, ODIC provides safe spaces for individuals dealing with drug-related challenges. The project offers essential services such as food, shelter, medical care, and counselling. ODIC also organizes medical camps and community awareness programs to educate the public on drug abuse prevention and connects beneficiaries with long-term rehabilitation services.

SMILE (Support for Marginalized Individuals for Livelihood Enhancement)

Focus: Rehabilitation of beggars within municipal limits.
Details: Launched in November 2023 in Thiruvananthapuram Municipality, the SMILE project aims to provide comprehensive support and reintegration opportunities for individuals engaged in begging. The project follows a structured approach, including a survey to identify beneficiaries, followed by mobilization, counselling, and rehabilitation. SMILE offers shelter, medical care, vocational training, and employment opportunities, rehabilitating approximately 50 individuals per year.

Galaxy Cultural Organization with National Presence

Focus: Promoting and preserving the cultural heritage of the state.
Details: This state-level initiative, under the Union Ministry of Culture, is dedicated to fostering cultural awareness, artistic expression, and community engagement across the state. The project celebrates the state’s diverse cultural traditions through festivals, educational programs, and community activities. It also works to preserve endangered cultural practices and promotes inclusivity by engaging all communities in its cultural initiatives.

Karuna Sai Counseling Centre

Focus: Providing comprehensive counseling services for individuals, families, and adolescents.
Details: Established on January 1, 2001, the Karuna Sai Counseling Centre offers a wide range of mental health services, including individual counseling, family therapy, addiction counseling, adolescent counseling, and career guidance. Staffed by a team of clinical psychologists, psychiatric social workers, and psychologists, the center addresses each client’s unique mental health challenges through personalized assessments and scientifically grounded treatment methods. Services are available both online and offline, ensuring accessibility for all who need them.

Praptam Adolescence Centre

Focus: Supporting adolescents during their critical developmental phase.
Details: Since 2005, the Praptam Adolescence Centre has been an integral part of the Karuna Sai De-Addiction and Mental Health Centre. The program offers specialized counseling and support for adolescents who are navigating the challenges of emotional stress, hormonal changes, peer pressure, and academic pressures. The centre provides adolescent-specific counseling sessions and family engagement programs, ensuring that young individuals receive the necessary guidance to develop into healthy, well-adjusted adults.

Lively Hood Project

Focus: Rehabilitation and support for tribal communities affected by addiction.
Details: Led by the Karuna Sai Addiction Centre, the Lively Hood Project has been instrumental in providing medical, paramedical, and counseling services to tribal settlement areas. The project has successfully rehabilitated over 200 families from addiction, focusing on anti-addiction activities, awareness programs, and sustainable follow-up activities to ensure long-term recovery. The initiative’s success is built on a foundation of continuous support, providing these communities with the tools they need to lead addiction-free lives.
